So a trip to New York took place. That official travel has a cost, and that this cost deserves to be known, is a normal democratic expectation. The amount is not drawn from an invoice, a public contract or an accounting document: it comes from a charter-rate estimate — the attached image says so explicitly ("Based on current private charter market rates, you can expect approximately…"). An estimate of what a private flight would cost is not evidence of what was spent. That absence cuts both ways: it prevents proving the accusation as much as disproving it. The rigorous response is therefore not to advance an estimated figure as if it were an invoice, but to ask for disclosure of the trip's cost and funding. A verified figure — even a high one — serves public debate better than a spectacular but unsourced one. It's the same standard we apply to government announcements.
